Early April Update - 2/4/08

Our Engel fridge freezer is nestled into a cupboard and purrs reassuringly away in the background. It was a tough call as to whether we needed a fridge freezer at all as we already have a small fridge but the joy of an Engle is that it can be adapted for whatever is needed at the time.

Turned down it just chills vegetables etc, put it on medium and it will keep meat and other items like milk in their prime or turned up will freeze the contents.
As you can imagine, most African countries have food shortages and the advice is, if you see something you like to eat then buy it immediately as you may not see it again for a while! The fridge uses a minimal amount of electricity and doesn't take up much room that we thought it would be a good idea to have the option of frozen food.

As mentioned in the last update, Oz has been working on the wiring... below are some pictures for you to see just what he has been dealing with! (click on the picture to enlarge it)

Trevor (Oz's father) recently visited us and he reminded Oz that John (Oz's Uncle) runs a factory making awnings. Now this shouldn't have come as a surprise to Oz as John has owned Prima Awnings for over 25 years! However, we have an awning on the side of the Mog which I was about to make some sides for (the size of awning we have doesn't give the option of sides when purchasing) but I didn't know where to start with making the sides and I'm sure my efforts would be rather shabby to say the least! One email later and we are off to pay a visit to sunny Eastbourne and have some bespoke sides fabricated which will provide some much needed shade and wind protection in the desert. Hurrah!
