Update 3/9/08
Avignon campsite ended up looking like a gypsy camp after we had emptied out everything from the Mog, checked it and put it back! We wanted to make sure everything was in order and we had everything we thought we would need before Morocco. I spent some time cleaning and sorting out the accommodation while Oz concentrated on the garage and lorry spares. It was good to clear out some stuff and find things that had been buried for a while.
We flew back to Devon on 20 August for ten days and Oz immediately went down to South Devon to see his mum and Jen. I disappeared for the evening with Keef to Paignton Bike night – a charity bike event where local bikers pay a small entrance fee and meet up on the sea front, all the money goes to great local causes and it is something I like to support when I can. It was wonderful to catch up with Keef again and we had a great evening. It was also fantastic to see mum and dad along with Megan the dog and we had long catch-ups over the kitchen table.
I spent the weekend zipping between friends and managed to see my friend, Rebekah's brilliant new flat at last which I'd heard lots about. Then it was over to Steve's house and he had got a small group of mates together for a day out on the bikes. Nemo, Spence, Steve and I assembled at Phil's house and whizzed over Exmoor to Lynmouth for a beer and ice-cream (but not at the same time!). Back to Steve’s for supper. The following day I managed a quick coffee with Pete before it was time to meet up with Mark from Newcastle and Keef again down on the quay in Exeter for a live band, long chats and catching up on the gossip! Supper with Oz’s dad Trevor later in the week was lovely and it was great to hear about his new shop in Exeter. The rest of the time was a bit (but not much!) calmer and we did manage to get the vaccination boosters for Hepatitis A and B that we had returned for!

Don't try this at home... at least, not your own home!! |

Oz met up with Andy and spent the weekend in Cornwall partying and climbing. Andy is joining us in Morocco with his girlfriend Terri and he hopes to climb in the Anti-Atlas.
Only too soon it was time to leave again. With heavy suitcases loaded up with books and supplies we boarded the plane back to France. I wish I could travel with all my great friends but this isn’t possible so I have to try to see everyone when I can... sorry to all of you who I didn’t manage to see this time and thanks to all those I did.
Once back in France it was only 48 hours until we caught the ferry from Séte to Tangiers... but Morocco is a whole other story!
Join us on our Africa pages to find out how we get on...!
Kate, Oz and the Mog.
